main features
Rigid braced structure into which any HALDO bollard can be mounted by two bolts.

Provision is made for the use of three 16mm Rag bolts to fix the island to the road surface, if considered necessary, prior to filling with concrete for permanent sites, or ballast/ tarmac for temporary sites.

Mounting can be pivoted about fixing bolts to allow vertical mounting on gradients up to 1 in 6.

Provision is made for adjustment of height so that the cover of the BASELITE Basebox can be mounted level with, or up to 60mm higher than, the periphery of the island.

Installation Details

Siting example - using Haldo prefabricated island site to mount a baselite® bollard.

(i) Rest Basebox on to mounting brackets (1) with cable entry facing rear of island site.
(ii) Tighten clamps (2) on to end flanges of Basebox.
(iii) Loosen horizontal bolts (1) to adjust height of Basebox to ensure ground level mark indicated on Basebox level and proposed surface level in centre of island site.
(iv) On sloping road surface ensure top of Basebox is level before tightening bolts. (3)
(v) Pass electricity supply cable into the Basebox (with second cable looping out if required) and seal in accordance with type of cable entry chosen (heat shrink sleeves, cold pour compound or gland fitting.)
(vi) Fill island site with concrete to ground line marked on Basebox.

Note:

1. Cable ducts should be preformed in concrete to facilitate cable repairs.
2. If it is felt desirable, the island can be anchored into the road surface using rag bolts through holes (4) in the framework.
3. Rag bolts can similarly be used to anchor in the base flange of the Basebox.
4. Concrete should be of adequate strength and durability to withstand salt, impact frost and weathering and to retain any holding down bolts which should be corrosion resistant (e.g.galvanised to B.S. EN ISO 1461)

Other types of bollards can be installed on island sites using adaptor brackets. Specify version required when ordering (C/W hole centres if not Haldo product.)
